Here’s everything you need to know about the Hitman 3 Dartmoor case file location and how to get it. You’ll find the case file on the top floor of the Dartmoor building, in Alexa Carlisle personal office. How do I get the case file?
Solve the Case File Puzzle – advertisement You’ll want to tackle this method after killing Alexa Carlisle, as this prevents her from barging in on you. Luckily, no Bodyguards in the room itself will see through 47’s disguise. To begin, you’ll need to get the Private Investigator costume, as this gives you access to almost anywhere in the mansion.
- If you’ve followed any of our guides for the three Mission Stories in Dartmoor, you’ll have gotten it right at the start and only have to retrieve it.
- If you haven’t, locate the PI and Subdue and hide him in before starting.
- Now that you can freely enter the mansion, head for the main Foyer and face West, away from the main entrance.
Head up one of the staircases to get to Level 1, then go West into a hallway. From here, go through the doorway on your right, then left into another hallway. At the end of the hallway you should see an open window. Climb through it to get onto the wall outside, then go right and climb up the green pipe to get to the balcony of Alexa Carlisle’s Office.
There will be two guards here, so be careful: Vault up the balcony wall and hide behind the corner of it. advertisement Eventually the two guards will have a conversation that gives you a clue to your objective, marked with the blue diamond icon. They’ll mention that there’s a safe in the Office hidden behind a portrait, with a secret mechanism for opening it.
That means you’re really close! You’ll want to head into the Office next. There’s a single guard inside, but you can’t do anything close enough to him that’ll arose suspicion. So, head to the Western-most point of the Office where the desk and big red chair are.
Look for the portrait of the black dog: this is the place! To open it, check the armrest of the red chair nearby and hit the button to slide the portrait over and reveal the Safe! Now you need to figure out the code to open it. Above the safe are four symbols: a Mantelpiece Clock, a Telescope, a Fire, and a Moose Head.
You need to find these objects inside Alexa Carlisle’s Office to get each number of the code. You can read the directions below to find out where these objects and their numbers are, or just scroll down to the bottom of this section learn what the code is directly, if you don’t feel like searching for them.
- If you find the number plaques hard to read, you can use the zoom function of Agent 47’s Camera to make them bigger on your screen! advertisement The Mantelpiece Clock is under the staircase, on a desk with a lamp on it.
- In front of it is a wooden plaque with the first number.
- The Telescope can be found on the upper area at the top of the stairs, next to the door to the balcony.
Its number plaque is on the wall next to it, just under the main scope. The Fire is in the fireplace (surprise surprise!), which is near the red couches in the North of the room. The number plaque is on the brick wall behind the fire. The Moose Head is directly above the entry doors to the room, but its clue is right above it on the wall, meaning it isn’t visible until you’re on the upper balcony.
Head up there, then use your Camera to zoom in and pick out the number on the plaque. advertisement With all the clues found, return to the safe and input the code: 1-9-7-5, The safe will open, letting you grab the Case File on Arthur Edwards ! Now you’ll have to exit the level. This is actually not as simple as it sounds, for two reasons.
First, several of the security guards in the mansion are Enforcers who will see through your disguise, and so will Mr. Fernsby the butler. Second, there’s an Enforcer on the other side of the door into the Office, and while he can get distracted by a Staff Member, this can take a while to happen.
- Therefore, the best way to exit is actually by the way you came: go to the North-East corner of the balcony outside Alexa Carlisle’s Office and vault over the rail, then slide down the green pipe.
- Your next move will depend on if you have the Crowbar, or have unlocked the Maintenance Ladder shortcut in an earlier playthrough.
This will allow you the fastest, most trouble-free exit if Find the Case File is the last thing you needed to do in Dartmoor. advertisement If you have the Crowbar or have unlocked the Maintenance Ladder shortcut, go past the window and as far left as possible, then drop down, shimmy left and then pull yourself up the rail onto the maintenance balcony.
- You can then go to the other side of the balcony, unlock the ladder with the Crowbar if you need to, then slide down the ladder into the grass.
- If you haven’t unlocked the Maintenance Ladder in a previous playthrough and don’t have a Crowbar on you, you’ll instead have to go through the window and sneak through the mansion.
This is a relatively casual affair, but there are two people you need to watch out for. The first is a guard wandering around Level 1 (the second floor), who passes close to the two staircases that go down to the Foyer and can catch you while you’re making your way downstairs.
